GITS Skeleton

Ghost in the Shell is a 2017 American science fiction action film directed by Rupert Sanders and written by Jamie Moss, William Wheeler, and Ehren Kruger, based on the Japanese manga of the same name by Masamune Shirow.

This Skeleton is a one to one model built for the shelling sequence at the start of the film. It was mostly 3D printed based of the zbrush sculpt provided by Vitaly Bulgarov and sculpted under the 3D scan we provided of Scarlett Johanson.

I was the Lead print clean up, model maker and assembly technician. I tracked, detailed and finished over 1500 parts that make up the bulk of the body then hand made all of the cable veins and muscles that fill the empty spaces behind the clear body formers.

All told this amazing prop took 3 months of painstaking work and and every ounce of love I could give the job. When seen on the big screen most people didn’t believe it wasnt a 3D model and then we built it and filmed in practically.
